confused about wires

im tryin to help my friend install a sub, and he got this amp wire kit thing and the only wire that would work for the amp-sub is 12ga. is that too small? its gonna be about 600 watts rms.

If you are talking about the speaker wire than 12 gauge is more than sufficient.

If you are talking power wire to the amp than i would say use 8 gauge.

12awg is plenty big enough
