Confined to shallow mounts?

I want more options but what options do I have in a box that is 51"L, 9" BD, 5.5"TD, and 16" H...

Im tired of the Kicker CompVTs but sadly theres no other decent subwoofer that would fit in that box, and that box takes up a maximum amount of space behind the seat.

Is shallow mounts my only option?

How about an array of "normal" 8's?

Yeah I could go for four RE 8"'s or I could take the current 2.36cu^ft prefab box and build a couple of inches outwards so I can fit most subwoofers with a 6.5-7.5+ mounting depth and try to fabricate it or something to make it look more factory and install grilles to protect the woofers.
