How far does a cone travel ? Like from the subs normal position how far out got a downfire box and not sure how close I can have the woofer to the ground.
xmax = 15mmwhere did you get that info? how much gap would you recommend from floor to sub
15mm
Out of the link you posted - which was the owner's/installation manual. Said manual happens to contain the T/S (Thiele/Small) specifications of the DAT M6 subwoofer. According to the manual if you have the dual-2 M610 then the Xmax(mm) is 15. If you have the dual-4 M610 then your Xmax(mm) is 16.where did you get that info?
sometimes it sounds funky if it is too close to the floor.3" is like 77mm I seriously need that big of a gap ? for a sub that does 16mm ?
Xmax is usually accepted as the point where the BL is 70% of it's rest position.Xmax(mm) = maximum excursion (cone travel) measured in millimeters
