Cone sound from subwoofer

Hey guys, so I drive a chrysler PT Cruiser and I just put in a Rockford Fosgate P1s412 subwoofer. I'm noticing a "cone" sound, is this anything to be concerned about?

I hope you're hearing the "cone sound", otherwise the sub wouldn't be working...

OP what do you mean by cone sound? the P1's are pretty crappy subs to begin with so it may just be how they sound

hmm, how to explain it. I guess it sounds like "airy" at times, like you can hear the subwoofer moving and maybe it's rubbing against something instead of hearing 100% bass...

try to see if you can lift the cone. gently, to check if the dust cap is loose or not. Also, when you hear this noise, is it when the sub is at high displacement? If so, might be coils hitting backplate.

I can tell you it's when the sub hit's the lowest notes... I'm not real knowledgeble on all the terminology so that's about all i know haha

Do you have a subsonic filter on your amp? If so, what is it set at?

Subsonic filter need apply. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Turn it up all the way and then gradually turn it down until you hear the noise and then turn it back up again right before you hear the noise.
