there is no real gain into having the sub inverted OR the conventanal way. the only resone i have mine inverted is casue i didnt have any terminal cups, so i had to wire it out side of the box. ill fix this up soon and mount the sub the normal way
You gain your speakers displacement when inverted. Will you notice a difference in output, very little if any at all. The con might be some audible mechanical noise though.
I dont use terminal cups anyways... just drill a small hole ... big enough for wire to make it through...barely.. then put some silicon on it on both sides.
If you are in a hot area running inverted can offer a way of cooling off the motor quicker than being inside of a hot enclosure. Subwoofer motor depending on density suffer from heat saturation and it increases as you play UNLESS the ambient temp becomes significantly lower. I have seen many a peeps blow subs because they get into a hot vehicle and decide to play there sh!t, not good! Need be run inverted during summer and normal during winter, lOl just some food for thought...Polo.
