he recently pulled off a 152.1 at 36hz,whole bunch of us were metering seen it in person.gotta love that cone arealol

2 18s isnt alot of cone area in reality. He just has an awesome box.

yea but thats when the design of the box comes in handy diamonds and walls where woofers face each other act as an bandpass alittle. kinda like its ported example:

^^^^^^^^ that setup is considered sealed too. but do you think he would pull off an 149.1@30hz with under 4kwrms with those same subs and amp in an FLAT wall sealed?

Ive helped build a few of those types of walls. Ive always liked them. But it does not create a bandpass effect, nor does the opening act like a port. Too short, and too much 'port area'... the sound waves are simply forced out through the opening with no real restriction on air flow (which is required for a porting effect).

One would hope so. My vehicle does almost a 149 with a 200 watt, 2 channel amp (but my box is ported)

do u do an 49@ 30hz?

I personally like more efficient box designs rather than a shitload of subs thrown in a sealed box with little airspace. Im currently running just 2 little 10"s ported and ive dominated many sealed setups that had more cone area than them. Sealed enclosures do have a good use in car audio, but i dont think comps is where its at. So to answer your original question, i think half the subs, on twice the power, ported, would be louder depending on how you tuned it.
