Well, if you're looking to buy new and your laptop's sound card supports 4.1, try looking at Logitech Z560s. The complete 5 piece Z560 system is 400w RMS with the 8" ported sub receiving 188w RMS. The setup is generally regarded as having the loudest sub in the computer speaker world. They'll run you just about $140-$150 shipped now from most places.

also creative makes the best pc speakers. only thing is u would need a 5.1 or 6.1 sound card .the perfect card for these speakers is the audigity 2.

if u r interested i have the 6.1 speaker system & the audigity 2 card for sale(both come in retail box just used for about 3 months. in perfect condition). pm me and we can talk

Just FYI, the Audigy2 is a PCI card, something he won't be able to use with his laptop.

r u sure 400 RMS? or is that max. casue that is a shit load. i have the 5.1 from dell which ever is the best one they offer from lansing. it is loud like a mother ****er and it comes with two 6 1/2 subs. they are the best i have ever heard

check out the klipsch 5.1 system, a bit pricey but excellent

creative aren't that great, logitech z-680 which are rediculous and come complete with digital decoder, but it'l run you about 230, the last generation klipsch were also good, but the new ones aren't necessarily the best for the computer, more console or tv

hell yeah dude i have the same setup. these speakers POUND i wanna like try to get my sub metered. but yea i got a normal audigy and its still great.
