Computer Speakers Won't Play on TV

I just purchased a set of Logitech Z-2300 speakers. It's a 2.1 system and sounds great on my computer, but I thought I was going to be able to hook it up to my tv as well. I was hooking my stereo system up to my computer by using this Y-adapter that I hooked into the headphone jack in my computer and then the 2 red and white cables into the stereo system. (JVC Shelf System)

Now, when I tried to hook my new speakers up to my tv I couldn't get any sound. Here's what I did:

I hooked the speakers up plugged everything in everywhere.

Plugged the headphone cable end of the Y adapter up to the headphone jack of the Logitech system. Hooked the Red and White cables of the Y adapter up to the back of my tv where it says Audio L and Audio R.

What am I doing wrong I'm getting frustrated!! Thanks!!!!

when i get my computer i got a 2.1 but its a pos compared to my jvc system, so i got my comp hooked up to it, but it doesnt have the red and white audio in. so i cant hook my tv up to it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Make sure it's and Audio Out on the TV and make sure it's an Audio In on the Logitech system....

Sounds like either the TV is an audio in, OR the Logitech system is a headphone out. Check both of these points and you are most likely going to find the problem. Also, make sure that the TV is set to output audio in the menu. Many TV's have to be told to output audio by telling it to turn off the factory speakers.

Well, I have a headphone jack on the remote of the logitech system. The tv doesnt say audio in or out it just says Audio L and Audio R... It's like where I would hook a video game system up to.

That would be audio input, not output ...

Indeed.... A lot of TVs don't have an audio out in RCA form. However look around it you might have a mini headphone jack which you will be able to plug into....
