Computer Recommendation?

gateway=worst products ever.
so many people i know have had their monitors just go out, mobo/video card issues, etc.

I disagree with you on the monitors dying, I have had a Gateway 21" widescreen LCD for about a year now and love it to death

building a computer isnt that hard if you just follow instructions. the only intimidating part is you'll be scared to break the chips in half when installing them. they won't snap in half unless you're an idiot who doesn't know how to plug an object in.... although the heat sink takes some pushing power to get it on top of the processor..

how much cheaper would it be compared to buying one? i've been looking at stuff for a carpc, but never thought about doing a home computer. what exactly would i need to buy? know of a tutorial for noobx like me?
