I was trying to download a torrent and my computer randomly shuts down. I knew I had done got myself into something.

My computer restarted and I get this message.

I don't know if that is real or not. I am afraid to click on it. Is it real? Should I download what it says?

HELP!!!!!

First of all, the pop-up window couldn't even spell prevent right, so I am guessing it is fake. Second, stop downloading ****. Third, get NOD32 found here http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/4370069/ESET.NOD32.Antivirus.v3.0.667.For.x32_Unlimited.Update.Fix and run it.

All i did was click on a link to download *gasp* lil wayne's new mix tape */gasp* and i got some funky message that led to my computer restarting. then this crap pops up.

Avira AntiVir Personal is one of the best free anti-virus apps out there.

They update the virus DB once or twice a day.

Odds are oyu'll find at least 10 viruses, or malicious ware on your PC.

(And it's not just a gimick. It got rid of a nasty trojan I had and got me out of doing the grunt work of finding all the malicious files. Pretty Badass IMO)

Rogue Remover and/or Super Anti-Spyware should remove that fairly easily, or at least most of it.

Get rid of McAfee and pick up Kaspersky after that ...

running Trend Micro scan now..so far i have 3 ad-ware things picked up and 2 trojans...i think the trojans are what this is.

You got the spyware "rapid antivirus". It is a shitty company that uses this spyware infection to get you to buy their AV software that removes it.

Try all the known free spyware and adware/and virus programs to eradicate it. Look like you were using torrents without a condom. Always have active spyware protection working in the background as well as AV. Perhaps you didn't give us enough of a picture snap but I don't see any running in your sys tray //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/nono.gif.eca61d170185779e0921b0faa9704973.gif

You may need to use hijack this and manually remove everything in safe mode if this is a current iteration. Many of these types of spyware recognize A/V and spyware program installs and break them.

Have you gotten the screen where it looks like Windows is rebooting and the splash screen has an ad to dowload rapid antivirus? If not then maybe it isn't rapid but something similiar.

Only use commonly known software for the attempt at fixing. Don't google and use the top suggestions. A lot of times they and their partners just push their fixes up to the top of google. This invites more spyware and trojans.
