Computer help...Harddrive to new computer

OK, im dumb.....i know sussin

Now i need help

Welp, i bought a new computer a lil while ago, old one wouldnt let me do nothing, had some viruses or something i guess.

But i took both HDs out it and i want to get the music,vids,pics and stuff off it now.

Is there a cable or maybe a splitter cable for my new comp that i can put between my power cable and transfer cable from new HD?

Something easy.....i dont wanna take my new HDs out cuz i know ill never get them back in the right way and end up leaving it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

So, anything anyone wanna throw out for me too try? Appreciate it

first of all is it an IDE or SATA harddrive? second is there an extra power cord in the new pc to plug into the hard drive? if not ur basically screwed unless u got a modular power supply. lemme kno if its ide or sata

Both IDE

I have 2 HDs in new computer....i could use that power supply.....but thats what i was talkin about when i didnt wanna mess with the new wires, i could of just used both new cables if i did

buy an external case with usb off newegg http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817366010 15dollars. thats first one came up at cheapest price but that would be the easiest. only word of advice, maybe the movies or music is where u got the virus from. u could scan the drive from ur new computer before transferring the files though.

I see the ones that are USB....id prolly just go with that, it doesnt matter price really.

Im sure it would just take a while longer but easier to me i guess

thats 2.5'' im guessing its a desktop and uses 3.5'' so just find one of them. there all pretty much the same idk bought one almost 5years ago havent had a problem doesnt even have a name on it lol

If you want an external enclosure, this one will do the same thing for less. The one you posted in #12 has firewire in addition to USB. Unless you have a firewire port, there is no need to pay for the better enclosure.

Yes firewire will for sure be faster.
