Computer Gurus...Help me find a laptop!

No Sir I have no desire to argue with you. But when you make a 100% false statement then it needs to be pointed out so people that don't know better don't get mislead by a completely false statement.
Give me a comp that was built in 2001 and I bet you a million $$$ I can have it up and running just as fast as the day it was built.
It is what it is, as I don't know you from a hole in a ground it's not false I don't give a s hit what you can do with a 2001 desktop. If someone don't know what they're doing you should know that dust isn't good for your comp and know that when dust get's in there it makes your CPU run hotter then what it's supposed to //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif and can and might burn it up not make it run right do to it running hot. But hey I don't know wtf I'm talking about, that's why you don't want used :p

There you go again with a false statement. Yes, dust will work itself into the case over time sure but you do know that you can open your case and with a compressed air can you can remove all the dust that has made its way in there right? Dust is not good I admit that and it will make things run hotter which will shorten the life span of that certain component but this alone will not make a comp start to slow down. Heat will not slow down a comp it will only shorten its life span but that is it.

ok your a idiot I'm done //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif going to school for this is what I do but whatever.. You know it all

If you are a comp tech then you are one of the dumbest tech's I have ever had the pleasure to meet. No I do not know it all but I sure as hell know enough to know that you have zero idea what you are talking about. Plz keep you false info to yourself. You need to go to school thats for **** sure maybe they can teach you something.

You must be one of those geek squad tech's..

That's just your opinion, have a good day.. To the one that knows everything from government all the way to computers give me your number so if I ever have a problem with anything I will call you, since you know it all

I will be more than happy to give you my number but only if you will give me yours just in case one day I need to get some false or just plain out made up info from you. Sound like a deal??

You may be able to get some people to believe the made up **** you say but not me Sir.

Disturbed, are you honestly telling me components that are running hot will perform just as good as if they are in their optimal thermal zone? You are the one spewing false information, pal. My laptop will freeze and stutter, and run EXTREMELY slow when it is flat on my lap(basically cutting off airflow) but if I lift it up for about 5 seconds, it will go back to running just fine. Do you have some other explanation for this, besides the components are overheating? Please do explain this to me.

EDIT: just wanted to quote your stupidity before you attempt to ninja edit it.

What if it wasnt a 2001, but an something with one of the first SSD drives?

thermal throttling.

i was just knit picking his words. Overall he is right, just phrased it wrong.

an old comp with a standard hdd, fresh OS install and cleaning (to prevent any thermal throttling) will be as fast as the day it came out... unless you've like over volted the chip somehow and the performance is degraded.. but that's doubtful

I am capable enough to do that at least //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif half the reason why I like buying used is that the products hold their value better, because they have already depreciated. What makes them further lose value is increasing technology.

yeah you can buy a laptop today and 6 months later it will be outdated. This really ***** //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
