there was one right down the street from me that closed down a few months ago they had a couple good deals but nothing spectacular. still dont mis the store tho it sucked while it was open

You got a decent severence package eh? This one chick that worked there said they were giving her 14k. I wish that could have been me. She was young and I'm sure can get a job in retail like that. To have an extra 14k to piss off would have been the shit.

It would depend on how long she worked there. I was there for 4 years and got 3 months severance and my vacation time. Came out around 6k.

Someone else said that Bill is laughing...Actually since not many know this I will fill some of you in.

In 2000 when Carlos Slim Sr. bought the company he went to Microsoft for a partnership. Terms were agreed upon. So Microsoft owned a part of CompUSA. Since its a private company not many knew about this.

Now, if you think that Bill is hurting, I doubt it. He has 60+ billion and is still the #1 on forbes. If you think Carlos Slim is hurting youre incorrect there. He is still worth 30+ billion and owns the largest phone company in Mexico, as well as many other businesses in the US. But I guarantee you that neither of the above two are laughing one bit. This did hurt both gentleman's pocket book. To them it may not be a lot in the sceme of things, but to two men who pride themselves on success...yeah you get the picture.

Was that ultimate you bought the upgrade version? I know ultimate nonupgrade is like $350 last time I checked. If I can get it for $140 I'm going to buy like 493823 of them

mine was the upgrade version. Not the OEM one which is actually as cheap as what you may be able to get ultimate for. The OEM one just doesnt come in the fancy box like the retail one does. ANd if I'm not mistaken you cannot unregister it. Truthfully I am not a huge fan of the vista. I am trying to give it time, but when i use it i can not help but think of windows ME when i do.
