CompUSA to close Doors.

Yeah I use to work there. What will happen..

Gordon wholesales will buy the key market stores. Then liquidate all the stuff. As times goes on it will be marked down even further. Stores that dont get bought, the product will be moved to another store and that one will be closed.

And to the guy that says their prices were too steep...Umm no they werent. I was part of a team that did a nations price comparison and Comp was actually a few cents lower national average to the other major chains. They just had a bad rap from past prices.

Not sure if this is a repost...but supposedly there is going to be a liquidation sale and soon being that they are scheduled to close within 30 days IIRC

This already happened in Chicago area I think around March/April. The sale was worth goung to. I mean they literally were selling everything at a discounuted price. Light Fistures, cash registers, everything. BLu Gay players were like 450 when they were 800 everywhere else. It is best to go the first week or you won't really be getting anything good. I got a few video cards and Vista Ultimate. If you are looking for a tv i would go there if a warranty was not needed. All sales are final.

The one down here closed months ago, final sale prices still kinda sucked for a liquidation sale. FRY's FTW, the drive to FRY's from the southside FTL!
Frys is the best store EVER. If they sold groceries they would destroy local walmarts. The one by me is like 30 minutes away too. But worth it when you get there. Imagine a 40 inch samsung 1080p at circuit city BNIB for like 1800 with maybe 150 instant rebate and another 100 mail in rebate. Now imagine that same tv at 1500 already with 400 dollars off instant. That's how Fry's gets down. If you are in the chicago area it is worth the trip. If you are 50 miles from chicago it is worth the trip. even the car audio stuff is better than CC and BB.

I stand corrected........ this is the one i was talking about. http://shop1.outpost.com/product/5225897

Everything in the store would come with a manufacture warranty. TVs should be 1 year.

Yes they will do like they did when I was laid off in april. start at 20% off and work up to whatever it takes to sell the stuff. Problem is by the time it gets to 50% off all the good stuff is gone.

they did. Vista home was 50 dollars.... for the upgrade though. i got ultimate for like 140 i think. I have never seen a sale where everything was on sale. Obviously dont think you are going to get a 3000 tv for 50 dollars but there are some deals there. All software is discounted, video game systems, controllers, everything. Seriously it is at least worth a look.

You got a decent severence package eh? This one chick that worked there said they were giving her 14k. I wish that could have been me. She was young and I'm sure can get a job in retail like that. To have an extra 14k to piss off would have been the shit.

The store was really owned by the world's richest man?

Was that ultimate you bought the upgrade version? I know ultimate nonupgrade is like $350 last time I checked. If I can get it for $140 I'm going to buy like 493823 of them
