Almost 200 rms on your highs.... I am jealous sir. I love it loud and clear. Btw I got the Boston SE75's you recommended for my front dash. I'm pretty sure it sounds as good as it ever will with a pair off completely off-axis coaxial 4x6's, lol. They are powered by my oldie but goodie Eclipse 3640. They sound fine even though I'm certain I'm well over the recommended 40 rms that's recommended.... Thanks again.

There will be 2 sets up front with about 175-200wrms to each set and a set in the rear with about 60wrms to it. Its mainly just for when I park it and play it. Friend of mine has a shop and I try to help him out so I'll go to shows and pop my doors open and give demos and show ppl that cars can sound better than the crap you usually hear locally and I'll send people to him and he helps me out with stuff I need so it works out.

Glad ya like the SE's. They're great for the price. Thats a darn nice amp u have on em too. They should take the power just fine.

Cool, I was worried about the power. It was actually difficult to get ANY distortion out of them, even at 63hz cut off (that was just playin around, I'm leaving them on 80hz). Can you believe I got the amp for $36 shipped on an Egay auction? A couple very minor scratches that are gone now... It's such a clean sounding amp. I love it. It's handling those bostons and eclipse 6x9's(hate em, lol) just fine. Can't wait to get a 5 volt signal to it.... And you're running almost 100x4 (or 200X2 ?)to the front alone? Omg... so loud, lol. I likey. I would have hearing damage if I had that much going on. I am an addict....

Thats a great find on that amp. Hate I missed that lol No need to worry about that power on them. I ran my SE coaxs on 175 per side, 63hz HPF...no problems.

and my planned front amp (unless I get the Boston on them) does like 325 x 2 @ 2 ohms per a bench test so that's roughly 160 per side to 2 sets up front (320w per side, 640w total up front). They'll never see the full power with how dynamic music is but it makes me feel good to know its there lol then my rears will get 50-60 per side but they'll be turned down mostly.

The midbass seems more authoritative and extending lower on the CTX's than the SC's, granted I haven't gotten them (CTX's) into the car yet....just some enclosure and free air testing in my room. The midrange performance is neck-and-neck, with the tweeter edge going slightly to the ID's since they are a little smoother sounding, but also seem to have more "presence" or be "brighter" than the Bostons. It's really a personal preference thing on the tweets from what I can tell. I'll be able to do a better comparison once the ID's get in my car.

I still say, you can't go wrong with either.

Thanks. I'll be interested to see what you think once they're in your car, but good review so far. Those are the 2 comps that I have been looking at if I decide not to go with coax's. Otherwise Imagines are high on my list.

I want to get my hands on a set of Imagines...I just don't wanna run a single set of coax's for my front stage....maybe if I run into a set for cheap, I'll try em out.

I really dont feel like drilling holes in my vehicle, which is why i am thinking imagines, and i hear they sound really good for coax. I'm sure i'll lose some of the sound stage, but if they sound loud and clear, i'll be happy.

then, go for it. I doubt the ID coaxs will hang with the Imagines. The ID CTX 6 coax is nice for its price, but nothing crazy special. Maybe the ID CTX65 is a little better....but I couldn't fit them in my rear panels so I had to get the CTX 6

i have the imagines running in component mode and i think they really sound incredible, especially since its my first system all i did was plug and play and its really AMAZING. the sound is so crisp and loud and not ear fatiguing. heres some vids i made of it really quick

That's the plan.
I tend to ignore harsh/bright tweet comments on reviews unless its a really credible source that I know has a good install. Some people just like to say "bright tweets", I believe lol I cant remember ever reading a speaker review that some one didnt say the tweets were bright. Seems almost like some people shouldn't run tweets.

That being said from a more seasoned perspective did you find the Id CTX's to be harsh or pingy at all? They're one of the sets i'm most seriously considering for my new car, but I prefer a softer sounding tweet. I'm tossing between the CTX's the Polk Audio MM6501 and these Rockford Fosgate T1652-S that seems to be a great deal despite the lack of love for rockford on here.

They're one of the sets i'm most seriously considering for my new car, but I prefer a softer sounding tweet. I'm tossing between the CTX's the Polk Audio MM6501 and these Rockford Fosgate T1652-S that seems to be a great deal despite the lack of love for rockford on here.

They are definitely a soft sounding tweet IMO with a good bit of detail to them. They only seem to make their presence known when necessary on songs with amplified highs. Granted, these were in my room and my car didn't get a chance to violate the sound with resonances and reflections and what-not lol. I doubt ANYONE would be disappointed in these speakers for what you pay or even double the price for that matter. I like Polk equipment as well and I was tossing between the ID's and MM's as well. Only reason I chose the ID's is that I'd never owned an ID product so I figured why not. Polk stuff is solid and MM's get great reviews. I like RF equipment, but if those T1 comps are anything like the Punch series I had, I doubt you'll like them. Like Alpine R's, they emphasize the highs pretty strongly and it takes some nifty EQ work to get em tamed down.

Here's a vid of mine I made pretty quick. That was full range (no HPF) on about 200wrms to the set. Midbass was stunning and the tweet blended perfectly and that song is one of the ones with pretty amplified highs.

Here are the coaxs on a smoother song. Tonally, the Comps stomp all over the Coaxs so if these sound decent to you (considering its over the net) then the comps will sound waaaaaaay better in person.

As kind of an indicator as to how much I like these speakers, I am selling/have sold all of my audio equipment since I traded my car and these comps are staying right here along with my Pioneer 880PRS HU. If I ever put a system in this car or another, these will be going in for sure on front stage duty.

The thing about it, though, is I opted for the upgraded JBL system (which surprised me for sure) and it has a dash speakers w/ center channel and processing and all to get good imaging and I'm afraid swapping in these comps would just ruin that without me having to go back in and do some processing myself.

Such a tough call now, I was leaning toward the MM's but they're ~$60 more from what i've found. So if the CTX's are as solid as you say hard pressed to spend another $60 on a potentially identical comp set sound wise.
