title says it i have a little mrp t220 that does 50 x 2 and need to know what comps will play well of that and ones that i can hear in person.

There are memphis, alpine, jl, polk, infinity, pioneer, boston, and rockford dealers here in columbus.

And my budget is that of a father of one and one on the way in 3 weeks and a wife that has a ear that doesnt hear the difference between stock and aftermarket 6.5s //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif .

So budget of 150 at the most.

I have CDT CL61's powered by a memphis audio amp (50wx4) and they sound great. They can be ordered online for a good price.

doesn't do much for the wanting to hear them in person thing though - but I've hardly heard anyone actually complain about CDT's, and for the price I'm not sure there is much of anything better.

kind of wanna hear them in person anything else
You're wasting your time putting your faith in the soundboard at your local shop. Ever look at a frequency response graph for speakers? Above 2-3 khz there is usually a roll-off in apparent output on off-axis response. All graphs have 0 degree response. Many have 0 and 30 degree response plots. Some have 0, 30, AND 60 degree response plots. I'm typing on my phone so it'd be a pita to dig up a fr resp graph.

In YOUR car the speakers will not sound the same as on the soundboard!!! That pair of speakers you loved on the soundboard might sound like *** in your car. Furthermore many people chose to use an active crossover, as the passives that come with component speakers are not optimized for THEIR CAR. They can adjust the crossover points, the speaker levels, and even the crossover slopes.

I've never tried out anything prior to buying. I bought my o.g. RE SE 12 in early 2002 when only a handful of SPL competitors were running the HCs. I put my faith in someone's word of mouth on the product. I did the same thing with all other speakers I've purchased since.

Follow the sticky about deadening your door to get maximum midbass. Angle the tweeters to get the sound you want.

Best of luck!!!
