need a pair of good sq comps thatll be able to handle my sax 100.4 bridged making roughly 350rms a side. willing to spend 200-300 at most! shoot me some options peeps!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif also looking to stay passive.

A month or so ago i was looking at doing the same thing with my SAX 100.4 and some suggestions that were thrown around were the rainbow power line CS's... however those don't come cheap, would be around 800, there were some other suggestions.

Other rainbow line speakers that can handle that are the: SLC's, CMX's, Germanium, Profi, Provi Vanadium, and up.

Hertz HSK's, Hertz MLK's

Boston Z6, or SZ6

That's the advice i was given when i was looking around, i think the bostons go for 500, i don't know too much about the rest... but hopefully others will chime in

Only thing I could see handling that power reliably would be the Rainbow CS's/CMX's and the Boston Z's. Other than that, either try a 3-way set-up or multiple sets of components.

To be honest, keep the gains reasonable and you'd be happy with a lot of speakers. I throw about 125 watts RMS to my Hertz HSK's all the time, and they love it. I also have the Hertz MLK's in the car, and I feed them 160 to each mid, and 60 to each tweeter and it's MORE than enough.

So you know, I'm the type of guy that wants it as freakin loud as I can get it.

what would be the dif between a 3way setup and this? also looking for just 1 pair of comps as i dont think id have room to sick 2 sets in my doors when i get my car. also i would like to stay passive with the comps if that helps..

You might be able to pick up a set of used Boston Acoustics PRO6.53X comps for around that, they will take that power and want more //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

6.53 System Recommended Amplifier Power 20–500 wattsNominal Impedance 3Ω Frequency Response (±3dB, in-car) 50–22kHz

i don't wanna say the RSD's will take an actual 300 watts but i have mine running active off a DD S4. 200 per mid, 100 per tweeter, so 300 per side.
how good are rsd's really and how would they compare to something like rainbows or hertz?
