This..and if you don't have any, electrical tape works just as good
pending where, sometimes it doesnt. only cause electrical tape over electrical tape isnt good with very much heat. tends to melt the glue and make it come off. only in some cases though. heathshrink is the best bet like they both said above already

 
heat shrink is a specially designed rubber that shrinks when heat is applied. it comes in different sizes, for different sized wire... it insulates the bare copper, and also helps add a lil bit of strength to your connection. electrical tape will do the same thing pretty much, just not as well

Definitely not rubber, it looks like ABS. I like this grille but it does not include a trim ring. It is designed to tuck under the OEM rubber gasket.

just use riv-nuts or clip-nuts, made for blind fastening. some window weld should hold the ring on there pretty good..... being 4x6, you could...
