Components on Factory HU?

Seems like a noobish Q, but I've NEVER left a factory radio in when installing a system. Well the wifey just got a 2010 Hyundai Accent, lame I know, but it was cheap and what she wanted lol. Well it came with a 6 speaker system, components up front and 5x7's in back.

Too broke right now to get a nice double din HU and amp, and it already has XM radio installed, so I wanted to put some decent comps up front to run off the factory HU. So how would I wire the components? Just take the front outputs and put it in the xover? What if there are separate outputs for the mids and tweets?

Also any suggestions for some decent cheap 6.5 comps to be ran off HU?

Anyone else have more input on using speaker level inputs? I've never done it, how does it affect SQ and setting the gains?

Also if I'm going to add a sub, should I use the preamp on a sub amp to connect to an amp for comps up front to improve SQ (instead of using a 4 channel for both) or will it not make a difference?

I'd rather use a line output converter to give you some rca's to work with rather than using speaker level inputs.

Why is that? If an amp has the inputs, isn't it pretty much the same thing?
Yes, if the amp has the input, it should all be the same, but for some reason I've never had good results using high level inputs. It's always worked, but the sound wasn't the same. Maybe it was in my head, but every time I've used high levels, I've ended up swapping to a LOC.

Thanks for the insight, guess I'll have to just give it a shot.

Worse comes to worse, it's not like it's much more to work to switch it afterward so you might as well save a few bucks for now. A lot of my experience with high level inputs was on pretty mediocre equipment in local installs, I've never done it in one of my own rides.

My thoughts exactly.

Already gonna need to spend some extra dough on sound dampening, the doors are horrible.
