components in the front only???

ok i have 2 13inch w6 v2's and a 1000/1 in a 2002 explorer i want some more sound with vocals i was wondering if anyone has every replaced front speakers with components on an amp and left the rear speakers factory on the head unit how would this sound? would it sound like crap in the back seat or would it sound ok?

It will sound just fine. You won't really hear the rears from the front, but if you have backseat passengers they will get some music too.

That is what I would do, in fact I personally would never run rear speakers.

i always use rearfill, i think it gives a fuller sound as well as offers vocals to the people riding in the rear.

but also pulls the soundstage back.

but its all a matter of personal preference. if you don't care about a soundstage, by all means you can use rear fill to get a better sound. but if you want a good soundstage, rear fill is a no no.

If you have speakers in the rear it won't be better either way except for the rear passengers but even for them just mildly.

If you can afford 2 13w6 and a 1000/1 you should be able to scrape some more cash together for some better comps for the front.
