Hi all,
Just bit the bullet and ordered a set of 6.5" components for the front hof the PT cruiser to replace three ways in door. Couple questions, first has anyone played around with location of the tweeter. I had stock dash tweeters in corner pointing up towards windshield. The mid will be mounted in stock location at bottom of door. MY thoughts are in stock location, in the door itself about 5" away from the mid pointing upward or in the panel directly behind mirror. THat one would be pretty close to you ear and if playing loud may cause issues. There is also two airflow vents in the center console pointing to each driver that they would fit in however, the tweets would be about 10" apart. Also, more confused on the wiring. Speakers I'm getting are INfinity reference with two crossover boxes. I have a 4 channel amp. two feed the rear speakers. I was going to send the other two channels one to each crossover and then run the cable from the crossover to the mid and then from the crossover to the tweeter. IS this correct? I am seeing people run the mid and tweeter from separate channels on the amp. Not sure purpose of this or how to do it with only one crossover for each side. Please advise. Thx
