I've been reading on here about them. Are they really that hard? Some post said they are advanced for a beginner.

Any thing I should know about them? They will be amped

passive comp sets are cake. just make sure to get plenty of power, the more the better.

The first set of speakers I ever bought and installed were components and ran active... so it's not a matter of it being hard, it's just a matter of are you willing to learn... Real easy to install though, it's just running wires, just like a sub... all you really gotta do is figure where you want to put your tweeters, and how you're going to get them in...
