Component Speakers

If i get a set of component speakers and put the mids in the factory location and mount the tweeters somewhere else would that sound ok. or would it be better to get a kick panel to put them in?

well for the best imaging and sound it is recomended not to have the tweet farther than 6" from the mid bass driver.....so if u can mount it close to 6" no prob.....but kicks would be recomended tho

thx, so as long as the tweet is close it should sound good. Then in the future if i want i can build a kick panel

Not nessesarily...in terms of having the tweeter 6" or closer to the midbass driver. It totally depends, some sound better in the A pillars, the dash, or in the top of the door.

I had my tweeters right near the a-pillar and the mids in the doors. sounded nice. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

just play around with the tweeter placement and find somehting that sounds good to you.

if you can't go one way, go both ways i have my tweeters in kicks, but looking forward to be getting the CDT-10LP tweeter. it's been praised that it will raise the sound stage dramatically. i trust CDT audio though (i'm kinda biased towards them)//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

the cars is a 93 mercury sable, four door, sort of bad put it runs nice.

the kick panel would be better for over all SQ, espically for staging, because the speakers are closer to an equal distance to your ears since the drivers side is lower to the floor
