Another anomoly is that certain songs excite the air so much the voices sound choppy. Otherwise I've never noticed an issue with the mids being distorted by the pressure in the cabin and that affecting the sound.
In theory that should happen for sure, but it doesn't seem to...

watch the cones sometime. turn off the speaker amps and just watch the speaker cones move. in an SPL rig - speakers are weak points.

Ain't this the truth. Threads like this have me wondering "what the heck"? Tinnitus/permanent hearing loss is no joke. I know hearing can withstand higher levels at lower frequencies, but there is a line in the sand..some ppl take it better than others..And here we are discussing the possibility of 1k worth of mids and high frequency compression drivers. lol, Reminds me of the guy I saw riding around in a mini van full of subs and what not blaring away with full over the ear earmuffs on...ummkaayy..

I'm not looking for something completely over the border. I'm just looking to be able to hear my mids and highs even at half volume. I ran my 18s on a single 3500 and still couldn't hear my mids and highs at all let alone on the 7400 we ran for shows.
