just like the title states, i'm wondering if i have to use the passive crossovers that speakers coime with, as well as set the amplifier crossover. i just installed 3 sets of comps in my truck and to be honest with you i can't remember if i need to use both xovers or not.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/*******.gif.a649d21efc0d1fd4890a6428166586c1.gif here's what i have:

mb quart qsd210 in dash

mb quart qsd216 in doors

oz audio elite 6.5's in rear

all sets come with passive crossovers but i'm not using the amplifier xovers, i'm using the one in my HU (eclipse cd8455). let me know boys, thanx in advance.

The passive crossover that comes with your speaker set simply separates the mids from the highs. The tweeter is high passed and the mid is low passed.

The only thing you should be doing with your head unit's crossover is using a high pass filter to remove sub bass frequencies from your mids.
