I found a set for $225 2 12s bnib on here and another set of 2 12s used for 225, they used to go for 100-125 on ebay. They are exceedingly hard to find and I am somewhat bitter for missing the OZs on here and am wondering what other subs would be best?

How would 1 avalanche compare to 2 of those?

What single subwoofer would be the equivalent of those 2? In terms of SQ and SPL

properly amped---you will have a hard time finding a single sub to beat the Oz for near the same price. i have never heard a ava but the XXX and brahma both come to mind

They will be fed off an Orion 1200D

if your looking for a comparable set of 12"s --- i happen to have a set of swiss audio spl1290's. they are similar in stats to the Oz and they pound hard as hell and sound good doing it. $130 shipped or delivered by me to fort wayne.

The XXX is just an awesome sub. period.

so 1 15" XXX would match the OZs in sound quality and overall SPL? It will only be fed 1200 watts

2 12" oz's = more cone area than 1 15" XXX. generally more cone area with same power will produce more spl. As far as sq goes either setup would have nice sq. Some people feed a single XXX with orion 2500"s. i know those oz' can take like 2000 rms on the pair.
