i have 2 12" 07 CVR's and im fairly new as well. These things POUND really hard. YOu're probably looking for something with more SPL than SQ if you're new. These things have good SQ if you jsut turn the bass down, but otherwise these things are bass machines. You probably wont be dissapointed with them.
