i have 2 jl audio w0's 12inch right now i want to sell them and get one sub that is loud but i dotn want to spend alot i am selling my jl's and my kicker 500.2 amp for 500 but i might just keep the amp and get a sub for it any suggestions? i dotn want to have to pay alot for a custom box or anything like that either so i just want somethignt hat will be as loud as my 2 jl's but only have 1 speaker?

i dont konw how to build that shit but idk if i should keep my amp and just match a sub with it or just go everything new

but i am selling all that for 550 and i want to save atleast 50 bucks so around 500

Look for a viper 1200.1 refurb for around $225, then get a nice SPL sub, an SX or maybe a XXX if you can find one cheap enough. Then, learn to build your own box, and save up like $40 or so for materials for it.

It's not just a case of buying the supplies it's having the tools and know how. I would suggest buying a box from someone here if you are uncomfortable building your own.

how much is a new 15 sx? 275 was that it? or maybe not and what bout a brutis i think it is a 1500 watt amp my friend is selling it for 300? worth it? like 4 months old he had a 12 se running on it but he wants diffrent amp so idk

Youd have to call RE and ask them how much the SX is, Im not sure. Hell no, $300 for a used brutus isnt a good deal, ikesound has them for $200, and they provide a warranty.

$500 for box, sub, and an amp? Well, if you have a box built, thats gonna be at least $150, probably more, so that kinda screws your budget. If you dont have tools to build it, just have Home Depot make the cuts. Youll save an assload of money.

For an amp and sub, Id get the ED 9.1 for $315 on the icix forum. Great amp, youll get up to 1500 out of it, with a full three year warranty. For a sub, maybe a 15" comp vr like in your title. My wife has a 12" in her car, gets pretty loud off of about 300 rms, in a sealed box. Wire it at 4 ohms, use the 500-600 from the 9.1, and you should be pleased. Then when you decide to upgrade, you wont have to worry about getting a new amp.

Of course, you could look in the forum classifeds for a sub that would be louder than the comp vr, and fall within your budget, Id bet theres quite a few of them on there at any given time.
