I thought I had it narrowed down to Rainbows, but now im not sure. Im in AK so I cant listen to any brand unless its something a chain store sell (so I have never actually heard any of these). I have the pioneer prs880 deck and will be running a jl 300/4 amp for my speakers. I will mount the comps in the factor locations in the front door and the tweets in the door mounts as well on my 2004 civic ex coupe. I will be adding a 10 or 12 inch sub later on and some rear speakers. What comps should i get for my setup to listen to rock and classic rock and occassional rap?

There are way to many CDT's to pick from

Rainbow SLC265's

Then there are Morels, Image Dynamics, Clear, etc etc. I want a quality speaker in the mentioned price range that I can put in the doors and dont have to worry about imaging or other issues. THanks for the help,

Dave

I would give these a good, hard look:

Superior to the CDT's as far as I'm concerned. Never heard those Rainbows to compare, but I think they would fare quite well. The Memphis are really underestimated speakers......

As to this comment:

Any speaker in the doors is going to image poorly without time alignment. In this scenario that's less a function of the speaker and more a function of the installation location.

I heard memphis components on a soundboard and they sounded good to me. I excluded them b/c of their depth, which wasn't great at 2.6, but more than I had room for. I probably could have fit them in with some minor modifications, but the sales guy sure did not bring that up.

Anyway, Squeak, what do you think of these compared to OZ Audio, particularly the elites?

Well I went ahead and ordered the rainbow's from 6spd. I wish I could hear different brands up here in AK, but other than best buy and the normal brands we dont have much for choices. Im sure I will like them though from what I keep hearing.
