Getting 6x9s for my boat...has to be 6x9s because the cut out is already there for that size.

They will be paired with a Cerwin Vega 10 VMax sub that is powered by a Profile AP1000

I think I will ether get the JBL GTO926 or Polk or Revs

I just sold something on Ebay and got 126.00 for the item...so thats my budget

Revs?

I know... but I also have a Profile 400 amp that is 100rms per ch...the Revs are 80rms...but the JBL Power line is at 110rms

Would I not be better off with the higher RMS?

From experience i found it is better to use speakers made for a boat rather than car speakers not designed for that enviroment...besides using material that is weather resistant they also have the speakers built to play in an open area rather than a closed space like a vehicle....

revs ftw.

definatly, i didn't think much of pioneer after hearing the TS speakers, but those 6x9 revs are some nice speakers, just don't expect to get much bass from them. Very clear though.

While boat speakers will be even more water resistant than car speakers, most car speakers are designed to handle some wheather... lots of car speakers are installed in doors, and doors are not sealed, they will see humidity and water.

Plus, your choices are limited with boat speakers... there are less models available.

The Rev's are a great choice for sound quality/ bang for the buck.... but so are the Crystal coaxes with the kevlar cones. The mids might also resist water better, they are sealed.
