Recently I installed the clifford 50.5x alarm/remote start. At first I connected everything except the accessory wire and ran tests on the system. I noticed everything worked except the accessories (AC, etc) did not work when remote started. I then connected the acessory wire and retested most of the system. I thought things were working so I put everything back together. Now I notice that the alarm does not recognize when the ignition is in the on position (I cannot enter valet mode using the valet switch and I cannot reset the alarm memory (i.e. NPC and if notification of if the alarm was recently triggered) by switching the ignition to the on position).
I also just thought of something while writing this post; I hooked up the three power sources to the remote start unit directly to the battery rather than to the ignition switch. Would doing this cause the alarm to not reset its memory and the valet switch not to work?
