Clif Designs CD60.4C ?

SonicElectronix has these babies on sale for $180 off MSRP, which comes out to $120 shipped.

Has anyone heard of these, or know of their quality? The two reviews on the website praise these highly even though they are not brand name.

And I was two seconds away from ordering Infinity Kappa 60.7CS components before I saw these. The Infinity's are only 10 watts RMS higher, and 5 DB higher in sensitvity.

And I have not bought an amp for either of these yet.

i've only had a couple experiences with them recently, and neither of them leave me with anything positive to say. one pair i installed came with a blown woofer right out of the box, from the same website store place. they didn't appear to be used, but i really didnt look that closely before i installed them. the one was blown, and the other didn't really sound all that impressive. we replaced them with sl60's and was an immediate improvement. the other set i installed in a jetta, everything actually worked, but believe it or not, the VW factory speakers off the factory deck actually sounded better, and had better rance and midbass than the clif's off a jl 300/4. those were also swapped out for a set of bostons shortly thereafter, with another immediate improvement.

my .02 say steer clear. maybe back in the olden days they made a better product, but what i've seen in my isolated instances leaves a lot to be desired.
