Im looking for advice on a new top end set up. I looking for 3-4 channels . I also have around 500-650 per amp. I have read the pros and cons on both amps however paper just doesnt always represent real world findings. Would anyone have experiance with a class D top end amp configuration say Alpine pdx 4x150? I hope to hear some feed back. Oh yeah I will be running 2 sets of Focal 165krx3 active and 2 sets of165krx2 one in kicks and one as rear fill also running active. Thanks or your time.

I have 2 Alpine Class D's (see my sig) as I have limited space and decided to stack them in my center console. I also installed a push/pull fan setup to keep 'em cool. They run warmer than some JL Audio Class D amps I have had in the past but I like them. Again, I selected them for space reasons. I do miss my JL Audio Slash amps but if you are going to go with Alpine amps and especially given the harsh environment of a car, I'd go with amps that run as cool as possible. The only thing I don't like about the Alpine mono is the fact that there is no remote to fine tune the bass...I wish they had that.

You have plenty of cash, don't worry about class, just get amps that float your boat. Your talking about running 4 sets of comps active? So you'll need four 4 channel amps and you have $500-650 each? Or you are going to run 2 ohm/channel and use two 4 channel amps?

If I was looking at doing what your doing, I'd be looking at the new Soundstream REF 4 channels off fleabay, they

may be a little to cheap for you though lol.

I would not do Class D on highs/mids unless forced to by space constricts.

Class AB all the way. Screw those PDX amps... I worked on one, once... LOL, that was the last time... they work great but I question the ability of Class D full range to actually "sound good". Regardless of what an RTA might say, just don't sound right to me.

Space is some what of a question. I'v done away with the focal avenue. I will be running Hybrid Audio Legatia L8L4L1 pro 3 way's to start with. After their in maybe L4 and L1 pro's in kick's that all depends on how well the 3 way system sounds to me. I'm not an spl person but I do like my music loud with thunderous bass haha. Thanks for all of your input.
