Clarion speakers and doubs about amplifier

Hello!

I bought clarion speakers and put in the rear (sedan):

Are these OK, compared to other this class products and price? It cost me ~80$.

I connected them to JVC KDS641.

The main question:

can i use amplifier for these speakers (lets say 80W) and get any benefit from it? Will it be safe? Only 40W continuous power.. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Myself, I've always thought the clarion was middle-of-the-line equipment.

Yes they will be fine, as long as you set the gain correctly!

Hm, when i turn volume higher i hear distortions of low freq. speaker. Car audio player has 45W output and i hear it at 75% players output.

Do i need some king of frequency filter and a sub, or these speakers are not worth investment of amp. and sub and whatever it takes..
