Clarion CZ309 line input only plays through front near side speaker

As mentione I have a Clarion CZ309 and whn i plug in my tablet into my line in socket i can only hear the sound through the front near side speaker..almost as if the line input is being treated like input from a phone. How do I make it play normally through all the speakers and the sub? Radion, usb, CD etc all play normally through all speakers.

Are you using a 3.5mm mono cable?

Check your cable, it should look like the one on the right, with two dark rings. The one on the left is a mono if you use that it will only send a signal to the left side.

thanks for responding. I am using a stereo cable, and it only plays through the right front speaker (right hand drive) and not the rear which makes me think its not due to a monoaural input.also when I plug in my headphoned to the tablet it plays in stereo so i doubt the issue is there also . could it be some phone mode in the radio that treats input from tablet like a phon, cos I've seen HUs that direct the phone's audio to front near side speaker only.

I doubt it would be any sort of phone mode most of those use bluetooth to connect to the phone, it's more likely a damaged aux cable or jack. If you have a DMM you could check the cable for continuity, the tip of the connector is supposed to carry the left audio signal, so that is a good place to start.
