Clamped DD M1C question

Wondering if I can get a little input on this. My car is a 03 corolla with a Kinetic HC1400 under the hood and big 3 in 1/0. I clamped my M1C and was getting a reading of 33v and 14amps. Voltage at the amp was dipping as low at 11.8v. Im running a single DD 3515 dual 2ohm sub wired down to 1ohm. I was taken a little off guard by only getting in the general area of 450 watts at 2.5 ohms with rise. I am currently looking into getting a 170amp alternator for the car (stock is 70 or 80). Is the fact that there isn't enough amperage to supply the M1C the reason for the low output? I also get flashing on my bass knob on transients or quick bass notes that aren't necessarily loud, but on hard long bass notes at the same knob setting, I don't have any clipping indication. the clip light is a little too sensitive to use for transient notes but if it comes on for more than a few seconds that's a problem.

i ran mine with 4awg wire front to back 1 group 24 and 1 group 31 and a 100amp alt and i was over 1000w at 2ohm but i didnt use the bass knob and i set mine with a dmm for 1000w at 2ohm.

Ok I'm running knu konceptz 1/0 wire to the amp in the back, and for the big 3. Maybe the alternator upgrade will help. I'm assuming I will notice an audible improvement before I reach the amps clipping indicator?
