Civic si vs Scion tc ..FTW???

actually you would be suprised a completly stock b18 has been proven to take over 22 psi. secondly you have to remeber weight difference between domestics and imports so it takes less for one to go faster. for example an ls1 in a civic will make it run 10s easily while in a camaro its high 11s-12s and again like i said well tuned. a turboed car is nothing without a good tune. so your probably racing kids who have daddys money to spend and buy bolt up turbo kits that dont show the real potential of a turboed import. but anyway back to the car decsions.

civic SI > TC anyday. civic SI = car of the year 2006 according to Motor Trend. negativezero, a member on this board, just got his and he loves it.. http://www.caraudio.com/forum/showthread.php?t=158957.. if i knew anyone who chose a TC over an SI, i'd laugh at them.
Then laugh at me, would love to see his si up against mine in drag or track racing. The tc is an awsome car. Very well made and great value.

Looks wise, both are nice cars. I like the body of the tC more. It just seems to have more "form" whatever that means. You really can't go wrong with either and it all depends on your tastes in the end,

Reliability, once again, straight down the middle.

Now for an SQL system, I can only judge for a tC since I own one. But installing a system in one is very straightforward. No pain in the ***** or anything. The hatch itself is kind of small but its good enough for an SQL system. I fit four 8's in mine. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif One thing that is a ***** about the tC is the rattling though. You are definetly going to have to deaden the shit out of it. But that adds to the fun.

Price/Quality, both good but you definetly get a very good bang for your buck with the tC. Even though they allow no "haggling" (negotiations) on a tC its still a very good value. (They might give you free floormats though. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Honestly, once you take both out for a test drive, it will be a much easier decision.

From the looks of your posts it does seem that your going towards the Si though, but good luck with your decision.

To noob with an RS: Stop talking out of your ***... noob. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

To all the ones who are mentioning muscle cars... hows the MPG on those?

Have a 2005 model..?

yeah i dont mind imports i actually thought about buying one as a family car... but its those **** kids who like to do those stupid ricer flybys with there coffee cans screaming at me like they are fast or something... its not that i dont like imports its just the "ricer" kids... my buddy loves imports and i sit there and talk to him all day about them and i love his hatch.. plus he isnt the typical coffee can ricer guy hes kool about it

yeah i gave evo's some credit... they are quick but the point is they will not destroy a 11 sec car

re read my post...3-4k and you can get an evo into the low 11's to high tens...you can get in the low twelves for a grand or so...and as stated earlier in teh twisties a stang or camaro stands no chance...hell a vette stands no chance...

anyway i say TC those look nice IMO.. and if you want a little more power to it just put a 75 shot on it so you will always have the power at your finger tips

yeah and spend 2-3k on a muscle car and it will be in the low 11's ... i am done with this convo.. the original poster doesnt care about running 10', 11's , 12's..

I'd probably take the tC, but only because it costs less. If price wasn't an issue, I'd get the Si. I like the look of the SI better, but not enough to justify spending $4k more. Just test drive them and see which one you like better. IMO, if I was looking for something around $17K and was looking for something fun to drive with great gas mileage, I'd go for a used SRT-4. Insurance would probably be more, though.
