Cingular what do i need to do to switch phones?

Ok so a friend of mine just up graded his phone and he gave me his old one which is 2347329847328x better than mine. Im just wondering what exactly I need to do to switch my service over from my phone to his. They both have sim cards do I just switch my sim card over or what?

do you both have cingular? if so then, yes.

just switch the sim cards then

There are GSM phones, and CDMA phones. If you're buying a new phone, or trading for an old one, make sure it's a GSM phone.

Cingular and T-Mobile are the main GSM carriers,

Verizon, Sprint, Alltel being the CDMA phones.

Im pretty sure its a gsm phone its a sony ericsson s710a and my old one was a motorola v400.

Bringing up an old thread but....

How did it work out?

Is all you had to do was switch the card? No other issues?

I am getting another phone from my step mom and we are both on Cingular. The phone I am getting from her is a newer phone than mine but I don't remember what it is. I think it may be a LG. Better than mine right now. Mines starting to act up on me. (flip phone)

all you would have to do is switch out sim cards and the only reason ou would have to call in is if you had insurance on the moto to get the new fone covered

yeah all i did was switch the sim cards... no problems at all and its been like a few months.
