chooseing sub box help

I have two 12" rockford fosgate T0s 2012

700 rms each they are going into a 06 camry, the manual recommended 40hz port tune 1.8cu ft per sub....could i get a bigger box say 2.5 per sub and Tune it lower to like 30hz to hit the lows better with no problems or should i stick with that rockford says?
