2 blocks south of 12 mile off Van Dyke...right by Burdi Park
OK I know. Last I remember that was called Rinke Park. You are talking about the park on Arsenal? I lived in the townhouses off Martin behind the shopping center where Dunhams is.

Gotcha. You are on the same side of Van Dyke as the Tech Center? We were within walking distance of each other. I remember my parents taking me and my sister shopping at the Kmart at Tech Plaza.

LOL my dad worked in Utica. 23 and Mound Ford plant. I never went on that side of Van Dyke. Never had to go down any of those side streets. If you haven't been there in awhile they closed the tank arsenal and rebuilt that area. They built an Mtech place iirc, and some sort of new building.

i went to school at Lincoln Elementarty...i'm pretty sure that school is closed now
I heard of Lincoln High which is on 9 mile by Hoover IIRC. My sister is a couple years older then me and she went to first grade at Crothers. We were in the Center Line district. I don't know if the other side of Van Dyke is the same district or not.

**** that's getting close to 8 Mile isn't it? That seems a long ways for elementary students. Crothers was directly across from the Warren city pool, between Martin and 11 mile, and between Hoover and Van Dyke. I cannot remember the name of the street it was on.

i have no idea why i went there.......but thats where my parents took me

only read page 1. detroit isn't as bad as people make it out to be. it has ghetto's just like every big area, and it has nice areas, just like every big area.

i've worked down in detroit, i've spent plenty of days skating in detroit, and i never felt anymore threatened than i did when i was in brooklyn, or harlem, or other downtown areas throughout the country.

and i grew up in what used to be the whitest city in the U.S with a population over 100k
