Chevy S10 Reg cab - BLOW THREW!

He wants to hit the low notes really well, and sealed has never failed me at that. So we are just gunna try this out, if not. Ill go buy some birch and do a sick ported box, crossing my fingers though, i hope this works. Because im about to start school and i wont have time lol.

Im kinda bummed that hes only gunna be getting 400watts rms to the subs that require 500rms...
I told him to sell the amp, and buy a beastly amp so we can see what these babys can do. Ive never delt with Alpine so idk, ive heard the type X's but never the Type "arruuggss"
gave mine 1000 rms daily each, they took it fine. He needs a bigger amp for sure.. they come alive at 700+rms

Yeahhhh.....

Well, we are gunna get the bungalo and everything hooked up for now. And then the when we do the highs/kick panels/amp we will upgrage the subamp too.

They will sound fine sealed. I had 2 of them in a trunked car off 1000rms amp sealed in 1.75cft each and did 144.2 dbs of an older Term lab. They jammed for sure.

Ported will get louder, but you will be fine sealed up. Too many port heads on this site.

I concur.

Ported ai'nt always better. Sometime's sealed is just better if you want to listen to music and not be belligerently blaring your music. I like the way small sealed boxes sound with a lot of power and a bunch of poly fill. It's just a preference thing .

That looks eerily close to one I did last year in my last S10:

Mine was with 4 Type R 10s though, still sealed. Yours looks great! I've got two Premier 10s in my current S10, and decided to do ported this time around:

The last one was more showy, but I think the current one sounds better. Nice to see other people who aren't afraid to cut up their truck... Good work man! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

if he is going a more SQ route (not saying R's are SQ whatsoever) then I spose' the sealed will do. but ported they come alive like stumbling monsters

I would add two more of the same subs and look at selling the 2k to go towards the funds of a decent 5-8k mono amplifier and new enclosure
