Chevy alt

So, we've got an '88 Chevy Suburban sittin around that i was wanting to pull the alt out of and put in my car. i have a 96 Nissan 240sx, is there any reason i can't do this? i'll have to rig it to fit, but is all the wiring the same? a + cable, a ground, and then one from the voltage regulator i'm guessing are on my car. The chevy should have the same three wires, right?

well....i dunno man. Does the suburban's alt put out significantly more juice than your current one? The nice thing about your current alt is it bolts on right to the bracket its installed on....your chevy may or may not. Alts aren't really universal..maybe in the same family of cars, but not from a suburban to a Nissan.

I'm certainly not saying it WILL NOT work, what i'm saying is there is no use in ghetto rigging as important of a part of your auto as your alt for 10 to 15 more amps.
