Im pretty sure all the older RE subs use glued on felt pads. Its a fairly common band-aide these days. I know my xxx's have them.yeah, my TC9/RE hybrid made by TEAMPSI has it
Considering Onyx was based in the NW Indiana area, it's not surprising to find that driver tucked away in someone's stock room.Well it is pretty rare around here. And the fact that most people on this forum haven't heard of it proves my rarity point.
Wow, thanks for some of the info.Considering Onyx was based in the NW Indiana area, it's not surprising to find that driver tucked away in someone's stock room.
And the only reason not many have heard of them is because they went out of business several years ago, before many of the n00bs on here joined. Just the same as Adire will be a forgotten brand in the not-too-distant future.
They were built by Destijl, and IIRC many of the Onyx lines used equivalent motors to many of the RE lines of the time. For example, when there was "some kind of problem" with the motors for one of the series for the Onyx (Onyx claimed they were "B" stock & didn't meet their spec, RE claimed Onyx simply never paid for the motors so they kept them), RE put a cover over the backplate of the Onyx motors & used them on their HC series......indicating that the Onyx motors were extremely similar if not identical to the motors used on RE's HC line.
dude, how much shiot that you will never use do you have for fvck sake? Here is a pic of 3 of my Onyx 15's....

Yes, it's an Onyx LSM10, but they were all Dual 3 ohm VC's, not D4's. Car Sound Rated it one of the 10 Best Subs of the Year back then.Onyx LSM 10"D4, 3" coil
Same exact thing as an 02-03 RE SE.
.... I wonder if we (RE/Destijl) ever even got paid for that sub. Maybe they hid it from the repo man.
EDIToooh I built your sub too! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
