You haven't failed yet... You can still slightly recover this if you do what I showed you in the above picture.

Your ears WILL hear a difference between a 50 and 30hz tuning. They would also hear the difference between a 40hz and 30hz tuning.

I couldn't do it like the autocad plan, since by the time I saw that I had already set the first 2 pieces on the outside of the port. I added length on the inside and it wound up being 1.5" wide and 15.6" long. Hopefully I wont have a great deal of port noise, but this is just a temp beater box until I built one for it for my ht. It looks kinda funky with the original roundover and the slightly different sized pieces for the front, but I may bondo them up. I like it though.

With it like you have it, it will probably be in the low 30s. Test the sub's excursion with test tones and try to find the frequency where the sub seems to move the least. This will give you an idea where it's tuned. You may have a little more length than you think though. Hopefully you won't have much port noise and it sounds nice.

Something else to think about: It looks from the original design that you didn't leave enough space behind the port wall. Make sure to keep the port panel at least the port's width away from the back wall. I think you only had a little over 3" of clearance behind the port wall but your port width was 4". Try to keep it like design "B" in the picture here and not like design "A":

So driver comes in Thurs. Hopefully it sounds good. I'd hate to trash it.

Finished sanding and such yesterday. May still bondo/sand the "quadrupling"
