changing tuning from 33hz to 38hz

what adjustments need to be made on this box plan to tune it to 38 hz instead of the 33hz for my 2 10" L7's???

Cut ur port down about 6 inches...

i would make ur port 24^2 (2x12) 1.5" is small and might create some port noise with those subs.. It would also work with your new tuning .. On a 1.6^3 per side you could do a 2x12 port 23.5" long

why are you changing it? in my opinion 38 is way to high, you'll get much more quality out of 33.

ive been hearing alot that my kickers like to be tuned rather HIGH like 38-40 for max-wang...so

What is the box volume? The volume will determine what length you want you ports. The bigger the port the better ie 4" is better than 3" because you wont get as much 'mach' (port noise), but the bigger the port the longer it has to be. Let me know I can figure it for you. It is best to keep the ports on the same plane as the sub-how much depth do you have from the front-back of the box?

l7 s are nice tunedhi, there not sq so y try to tune it to be , u'll be happy with 38 hz.. Considering 35 is avg... 33 for square 10s??? no thanks thats where a w7 would sound grat , not l7s

With 2 10s with 3 inches of port width will not make any port noise, u get below 1.5 ur askin for trouble

yeah i've been looking for a W7, but i have been unsuccessful. box volume is 2.9cu ft. its from the plans in the sticky--->http://img29.imageshack.us/my.php?im...z36sqin5xd.png. so what should i tune it to then for a good balance betweeen LOUD and DEEP too. i just want to see what they sound like in a ported box compared to .75^3 ft sealed per sub. oh yea if it matters they are powered by kx1200.1

If were talking about ur L7s tune anywhere from 35-40 , for a good daily setup , that will play low and clean.. 35 -38 is just fine prolly 38 since there10's imo...

sorry .. I'd do about a 4^3 enclosure tuned to 38 around 30 sq inches port per side

so whats gonna be the difference between them in a 2.9 cu ft box tuned to 33 hz and a 2.9 cu ft tuned to 38hz? alot of difference or just loudness??

Just where the subs will peak out .. The 33 or 35 will play 40 hz area a little better 38 will give u a lil more low 50's
