Changeing door speaker size?

I have a Chevy Malibu 01 and I can only fit 4x6 speakers in it. I really want to get some JLs (VR650csi, VR600-csi, vr525-csi) in the front to match my VR690-cxi in the back. How can I customize my door so I could fit one of them? The only place around me that does custom work estimated $800 for new panels. What are my options?

You can probably find a pre-fabricated kickpod or pod for your a-pillar on Egay for sub 200 and go that route...

there are absolutely no prefabricated audio parts that fit a 01 chevy malibu. i've looked plenty of times but if you can find one let me know.

That link is only really about deadening sound. it doesn't really tell me how to make a speaker fit in my door. Anyone else have ideas?

No, actually he cut a new postition in his doors and installed spacer rings to allow for larger speakers in the small opening. That is what you should do. The only thing missing, for you, is to cut the door panel and attach a speaker grill. Most of the work happens under the door panel.

i turned an reverse mounted 8" into a standard mount 6.5" same concept will work for what you are trying.

well, not quite because I am working with a smaller hole and trying to build it out. I know I will porbably have to take out the guts of my door and cut a hole large enough for the speaker. the problem is after I cut it out I have no way of mounting anything in there.
