Ok so i have two DD 1508s, right now only being powered off a rockford amp doing 125 rms to each.
So i changed the top piece of the box, the one where the subs mount. Basically i mounted the subs in a different place on the box, same side just moved. Reason is one sub was behind the port, and other was right in front of it, thinking it may not be using the full box so i should move them, and was told to do that.
I dont have a pic, so i hope you know what i mean by where they were placed.
I have a pic of almost how i mounted them now, which is just like this but the subs are on the same side as the port instead of on the opposite side.
EDIT: At first the subs were basically like the pic above, just the sub on the right side was down further and was like right in front of the port. Hope that helps to understand. And now the subs are in the same place, just all the way to the port side.
I also changed decks since then also. From an alpine 9851 with not really any features at all, fairly standard deck as far as sound shaping and stuff. 2 volt pre outs.
I have a sony deck in there now, while i know its not a great deck, it has more sound shaping and stuff than the alpine did, and it also says 3v pre outs on the face.
Basically my quetsion is, do you think more or less it was the box or deck change? Its still loud, but i feel that it was louder before. I mean even with the 125 rms to each, it was pretty **** loud for the low watts and it would tickle your nose haha.. Its in a hatch is why its so loud too. It doesnt really tickle my nose anymore even with the same songs. I am thinking it was the box?
The box is facing the exact same way and everything as before, subs facing up and port to the drivers side, i tried the passenger also and didnt help anything.
I think i need the subs on the other side of the box as i had them before?
