Change the way you think about speakers with unreal accuracy

I have been known to design an enclosure or 2 when I get bored

Looks great man! Keep it up!

Yea, right? Is he serious? LOL. This guy doesn't shut up.
You the One that came on here tried To tell my how my design would work and tried to kit pick my post..

If you really loved doing that you would design enclosures for free..

I'm not going to argue with you I have no reason to..

The original topic is and will always be..

You seem to be upset I have figured out how the Mach impedance ib a given enclosure better than a " non compression horn" hehe..

Seriously though once I get it working I'll be glad to let you do what you like...

Yea, I used to. But I have a family to support and doing what I love and getting support for it is a win win situation. In this economy, if you do not profit from what you love and you have the chance to do it, you are a fool.

I didn't nit pick you, I corrected you. HUGE difference.

Im not upset at you anymore. What is the mach impedance ib? Did you mean "to match impedance"? You really need to fix doing that, it gets confusing.

And you do not have to "let me" do what I like....like you have control over that...LOL....I manage completely fine without people like you, LMAO. And you are actually helping me with these posts. You are something else, I tell you what!

Did I do that? WOW. That would be impressive since I have NO IDEA what you are trying to do (which is a good thing for you). Not to mention, I supported it in the beginning...IF YOU REMEMBER. You need to pay real close attention to the way things are worded. They might not seem so threatening if you start to understand their purpose.

Zz.. Zz.. Zz.. Zz.. Zz.. Zz.. :Wake me up when this prototype is build: Zz.. Zz.. Zz.. Zz.. Zz.. Zz..
No kidding! LOL

I'm out guys. No more butt hurt for this guy......or kid. I dont know. either way, I love when people try to argue with the truth. Later guys! Papershredder, or whatever your name was, don't make me come back here and correct you some more. LOL

You see what these people do to me......that was unprofessional of me. lol. Sorry for the outburst all. It won't happen again (I hope). //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Calling bullshit on this unles by "continuous" you mean 20 to 30 seconds. There simply is no voice coil that is capable of withstanding that much heat for very long.

So OP has some sort of electromagnetic suspension system which would require a ton of proprietary stuff (including amplifier). Good luck with that, you definitely will want to market something like that to the 5000$ RCA cable crowd.

I don't see being able to modify compliance as very useful since you would then need to swap out boxes as well. For that much work I may as well just have different sets of subs built up for either application. I can use whatever amp I choose, the subs I'd swap will be less cost, and I can recone them with readily available parts.

Cool to do it just to say you did it, but OP hasn't sold me on the usefulness of this over other solutions
This is what was told to me when the first Lvl6s were being made by DC from the company themself.

They said, 20,000w worth of amps were tested on one, clamped ~7,000w of continuous power without a sweat.

Maybe i should have asked him at what amperage they were receiving...

I'm only going to be running XLs in my current build but running BC5500ds @1ohm strapped per pair...

This will allow (if rise is only 2x at averaging note) to receive about 5,500w of power for 30sec under 40A of current.

Most of these subs nowadays can handle around 50A or so on the tinsel leads so the 1,500w rating on the sub is a joke.. They can handle tons more, just have to decrease current to do it.

I missed where you actually had to "correct" me..

like i said before..

You are afraid to publicly post how it works in detail or prove this design because you do not want anybody stealing it...

If it's so good, then OWN a patent for it and then show us, the public, the world.

If you are afraid to lose money on owning a patent.. then apparently it's not a good design that will sell...

It's plain and simple business.

I'm sure there are a few people here that have a good idea on how it works..

I'll give u a hint something very similar is used in cadallics cars..

I don't need to prove it works.. I know it does.. getting patient is not easy or cheap and can take years...

That's the thing..

YOU know how it works...

The public does not...

If it takes years to finalize a patent, then you better start now!

I woke up from my coma when I read this! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif Interesting.. So, if you up the voltage, but decrease the amperage - how does it effect the sound/characteristics other than putting less heat through the coils? I've always wondered if anyone would benefit from wiring at 4 ohms high voltage verses 0.5 and high current other than SQ? I thought current = force and voltage = potential?

I'm guessing you want to use Ferrofluid or Magnetorheological fluid for a suspension, good luck with that.
