Chalk another one up for Mean Green

True.
I never really heard many horror stories about any alternator companies besides Excessive & some other company.

OhioGen & Iraggi have always had good remarks from the people around SoundCheck & such.

Pornstar being one of those fellers.
Ohio Gen sucks now.

Replaced/Problems with near a dozen we installed this year. Plus, as stated on their own birthsheets, they **** balls @idle... and produce almost no amperage until full RPM.

if they only do do domestics ne1 know of somewhere reliable toget one for the 535i BMW as the dimming issues at night are really bad the bass hits and the lights go off its a bit annoying ppl think im flashing them an help with this
cant give you a full reccomendation, but if you want supposed quality ( i trust them enough. i mean, they R&D their own parts supposedly) H-O alts might have something for you. be prepared to pay a pretty penny though.

INdeed, that would be what I would look into if I didn't have my current Mean-Green.

yea for me its not a bad deal. it was $450 for a 220a H-O brand alt plus ship. i was trying to decide which one to take, but i ended up with the mean green since they had more reccomendations (probably due to the lower price since most dont want to spend $600 on an alt and wont give them a shot)

however for my buddies 5.0 explorer, it was $600 or so for a 250a alt (it was a 4g, while mine was a 3g ford alt).

so its kinda of luck of the draw. you can get a decent price, or you can get an expensive price. just gotta call and get a quote. luckily mean green has a flat price on all their alts //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I don't mean to jack the thread but does anyone know a good site to cross-reference what other vehicles an alt will fit? As you should be able to guess by my name I've got a 94 Mazda 626, and alot of the parts are shared between it and a ford contour. I'm hoping to find something about 180 amps.

no cross referance that i know of. i would just call the HO companies and ask.

try to find out what engine is in the mazda and see if it pairs up to the contour. if its the same engine (kinda like the ford explorer and the mazda navajo) im sure mean green or h-o alts has something for you.

Yeah it seems like they match, they both have 2.0L 4 cyl (mine) and 2.5 V6's. So far all I've found are EA and Iraggi but from what Ive seen about them lately is that they have gotten a little shakey. The one thing I do like about Iraggi is the $99 lifetime warranty/exchange program. This car isn't going to last me forever and the idea that when I sell this car and buy a new one all it will cost me is shipping to get an alt for the new vehicle.

That guy used to have a kit that was a little soldering and you'd have a 200 amp alt ( 3G ) brand new pretty cheap too //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

but now just looks like 160s //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

still has cheap fuse holders and fuses though http://rjminjectiontech.com/?p=15

My buddy just recently recieved his new mean green alt for his explorer. installed it today, and guess what? works like a motherfucking charm.
this is after over a month of trying to make the Motor City Reman alternators work for his vehicle. i tried to convince him to get the mean green right off the bat (due to my experience with the one i have on my vehicle), but he decided against it "too expensive" he said... soon as we got it on his car, nothing but problems at idle. voltage was in the 12's, severe dimming. called them up, got a new pulley. voltage was still in the 12's when in drive (a tiny bit of improvement) and dimming of all lights, dash, everything. called again and was told it was the smallest pulley they had, and to send the unit in for a replacement. we both knew it would screw up, but he did it anyways. got the new unit, and same problem. called them and explained, and they blamed the explorer lol. after much *****ing and complaining, they offered a refund.

so my buddy said, fine, ill pick up the mean green. it came in, we installed it, NO ISSUES. just like i told it would be. idling, nuetral, in gear, everything, was perfect. we both agree we will never use anything but mean green.

$400 well spent. Mean Green FTMFW!

Hey man, how long did it take you to get the alt after you ordered it? I ordered mine via phone over a week ago and they haven't even billed my CC yet.
