Center Mounted Tweeter?

Has anyone placed a tweeter in the center dash

to improve imaging?

If so, how did it work out for you?

Did you like the sound?

I've used a center channel before...it was alright, until I tuned my system and angled/mounted my kickpanel's and 6.5 comps properly.

A rule of thumb is that your tweeter shouldnt be more then 6" awaya from the driver.

Usually people say its 12", at least that's what I have heard from many people.

But this isnt always true. I have sat in vehicles that have components mounted in kickpanels or the doors, with the tweeter right near them...and it sounded like crap. A week later, they came back with them installed in the A pillers and it sounded much better.

What Im getting at is that installing the tweeters right near the midbass driver is not always the correct way to do things.

all depends on the vehicle and the speakers......generally speaking tho its recomended to have the tweet w/in 6" of driver....
